For over 20 years, Michael Steele has provided a wide range of services to individuals, business owners, self-employed professionals, fiduciaries and nonprofit organizations.  In January 2009, he realized his dream of establishing his own tax, accounting and consulting firm.  The new firm will continue to provide traditional tax and consulting services and introduce quickbooks and other accounting outsource services to further assist business owners with their financial reporting goals.  
  
Before starting his own accounting firm, Michael Steele was partner in charge of tax services for Williams, Adley & Company, LLP in Oakland, California. He provided tax compliance services and assisted with consulting, tax planning, accounting services and IRS examinations for various types of small businesses, trusts and estates, and individuals.  He also works with a number of active and retired professional athletes, doctors, lawyers and construction related entities.   

Prior to joining Williams, Adley & Company, LLP, Steele had a combined ten years of experience with the Big 4 accounting firm, KPMG Peat Marwick and with the Internal Revenue Service. Steele earned a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (concentration in Accounting) from California State University, Sacramento.   

He is licensed in California as a Certified Public Accountant, Life and Health Insurance Agent (License #0E29681) and Mortgage Broker.

Steele’s professional memberships include: 
  • American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) 
  • California Society of CPAs
  • National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).

He was selected as Outstanding Member of the NABA Division of Firms in 2006, nominated as one of the 30 Most Influential African-Americans of the San Francisco Bay Area in 2004 and has served on the prestigious Group of 100 Committee for the AICPA.
